Early October found me on the road to Rochester, Minnesota. My husband underwent successful spinal surgery at the Mayo Clinic (where he received the most professional and caring healthcare we've ever experienced). We stayed a few days post-hospital discharge before heading home, which gave us time to enjoy the peaking southern Minnesota autumn. The tree colors were spectacular throughout the city, and in the rural areas as we traveled to and from Rochester. I had lots of time to photograph and add to my sketch book while he rested.
